Vancouver British Columbia Temple

Vancouver Temple Fence and Landscape Improvements

The Vancouver Temple was completed in 2010, representing a larger version of the new generation of smaller temples completed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. When it was originally built, the surrounding area was primarily still rural and agricultural, with scattered acreages within the immediate vicinity. As the Vancouver metropolitan area has experienced unprecedented growth since the construction of this magnificent edifice, the area surrounding the Temple saw tremendous urban residential development. The beautiful Temple grounds became the center of this new residential growth, with people flocking to the grounds to enjoy the beauty, serenity, and peace they provide. With the increased traffic in the area, it became apparent that the safety of those using the grounds needed to be prioritized. Therefore, in 2020 construction was carried out to complete an exterior fence, and gating system for the entire 11.6 acre site. The 2020 project included: 0.5km of beautiful custom aluminum fencing, 2 remote/key pad/pressure sensor magnetic roadway gates, 4 remote/key pad magnetic man gates, major storm drainage upgrading, irrigation upgrades, 200 meters of new concrete pathways, with stone benches and finish landscaping elements, including over 24,000 shrubs and perennials installed.
